Another Perspective : Gadgets and their (mis)use

"Life is what happens around you when you're looking down at your phone"

Technical gadgets over the past few decades have greatly influenced the drastic change in human interests and their interactions with others in an ill direction as well...

When misused/ overused, they are no "bliss" for the human race...

For instance, have a glimpse into this family which has adapted itself to the (mis)use of most latest gadgets and notice in which way and for how much better has their life improved from the advent of these sick unnecessary devices.

Elementry school kid: He's excessively obsessed with his gaming console. All-day long, the avatars in the game, bonus points, and scores are all he talked about. One would wonder if he was at all familiar with the "Outside" terminology! but who cares?

His sister has been treating her cellphone like an organ of her body, she's always glued to it and barely exposes her eyes to anything apart from that tiny screen! But dare you mistaken her as an anti-social animal as by now she has got more than a thousand social media friends! However, she has always struggled to express herself while talking in person, her inferiority complexities held her back. But who cares? She has got a technical gadget which has been said to improve the entire human race! Of course, it's her who is at fault!

Youngest of all, a three-year-old child who gets no attention from any of his siblings but is given an electronic slate featured to be able to play baby games and to learn easy words on, to keep him busy and the rest of the family undisturbed.
But does that help? No. It just strains his eyes. Poor loner. But how does that matter? Technical gadgets improve the quality of the human lifestyle, they will of the child too! He is making excuses, isn't it?

Well, it is not it. Gadgets are innovative inventions indeed but aren't made to replace humans. He is a child who craves human attention which the gadgets cannot match in any way what so ever and it is a foolish belief that they can.

The parents are concerned about their beloved children's future. They feel restless as their own thoughts start killing them from the inside. They feared if they lacked parenting skills. But don't you worry or hesitate! The children were lacking their social skills, the parents - their parenting skills but the technical gadgets are still improving people's lifestyle..!

Clara Winslow's Favourite Song

'Clara Winslow wins song of the year at Grammy Awards 2025', read the headline. She made it , I thought to myself before letting the overwhelming flood of memories take over.   I was interning at a music summer camp when I first met Clara Winslow, a frail girl with freckled cheeks, long bronze hair and eyes so expressive they almost appeared animated. When I assigned the kids their first activity of the summer, I vividly recall how Clara's eyes lit up.  'Listen to music across various genres, cultures, languages and pick your favourite song' ,  read the chalkboard behind me.  It was quite a task to get the rest of the class started. Clara however, was a natural. I don't think she spent a minute without her headphones and notepad. That was the only time I interacted with the kids and although most were adorable, Clara Winslow left an impression instantly.  Later that day and for every day since, I was assigned generic prep work so I barely saw the kids....

The Ominous Letter

I listen to what you say when you believe you’re alone. I know what you would rather do if you knew nobody was watching . I can feel you tense at my words. I can hear your breathing pattern cautiously pause.    When your grandmother said “Mind what you let occupy your mind”, where were you?  She may not have known the core reason behind what she preached, but she was right in thinking it was essential to protect you. She had every reason to be concerned. It is one of the greatest mysteries of the human race how nobody discovered that thoughts are logged. There are arrays of them incrementally pouring in as you read this. I have unhindered access to each thought of yours, as much as I would like otherwise.  Some of the thoughts are periodically repeated. As a bunch, they collectively move forward to take the form of an action.  I sit there in pain at the very onset of your first immoral thought, praying it never finds its bunch.  My job is to send back uninv...
