She stared at an image
not entirely by her will
everything about which had her
stop still
She hesitated to stay
but wouldn't leave just yet
not before
her eyes made her palms wet
She held the image and wiped it clean
then declared it was the
ugliest she had seen
for its features lacked intellect and wit
she added, black color would seem fairer than it
Its teeth were all crooked and nose so big
and hair so curly like one nightmare of a wig
She suddenly fell down like it was too much to take
the burden of looking good for society's sake
She lifted that image once again
it was trapped in a mirror, but felt her pain
They were all so heartless
who convinced her she was worthless
it is such a pity
she was labelled 'dumb' instead of 'witty'
and ugly when she couldn't have been more pretty
And here she was,
looking at the mirror with hatred in her eyes
she could be cured, despite the lies
and wouldn't have to suffer for months,
if only the mirror loved her again, for once...
This was awesome! The poems are rhyming better with each addition! Great message too, keep writing :D
